5th Championships Held in Herat Province:

HRT Cham

On Friday, the 23rd of June 2014, 5th Championships of Afghan Taekwon-Do Association (Ehsan Safi Taekwon-Do Association) was conducted in the same province. The event was held in Mirwais-e-Shaheed Gymnasium of Herat City. 73 competitors, from 6 different schools in three different age categories participated the event. The event included four ITF disciplines, such as free sparring, pattern, self-defense, and pre arranged sparring. Ehsan Safi, Shirzai, and Alsadaat, winning 17, 4 and 3 Gold Medals, got 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions. Mr. Aqa Mohammad, a disabled guy who has lost his left hand due to the war in Afghanistan, won the title of the best fighter in this even. The event was broadcasted through different local and National, and International TVs.

ATA 3rd Technical Seminar conducted in Herat Province:

On Thursday, the 22nd of June 2014, Mr. Najmuddin Safi President of Afghan Taekwon-Do Association and Official Representative of ITF for Afghanistan, conducted a technical seminar for ATA members in Herat province of Afghanistan. About 100 participants attended the seminar which focused only on patterns. At the end of seminar 31 practitioners lined up for grading for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Degrees.

ATA Won 1st Place Cup at the 3rd Invitational International Championships in India:

ATA once again winning 7 Gold, 5 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals, maintained its first place at the 3rd Invitational International Taekwon-Do Championships held in Bangalore of India from 29-30 December 2013. The team consisting 7 practitioners competed into two disciplines, Sparring and Pattern. It is worth mentioning that there were 5 countries, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, India, Sri Lanka, and Seychelles , competing to win the first place.

ATA Team also participated at a two day IIC, 27-28 December, facilitated by Master Kiros VII Dan from Ethiopia, and Master Adbul Rahim VII Dan from UK. The team will receive the IIC certificates shortly.

A New School of Taekwon-Do Jointed ATA:


Khawar Taekwon-Do Association, which is located in Botkhat Village of Bagrami District, jointed ATA in July 2013. The school has been run and managed by Mr. Faisal Gran who is doing an excellent job in promoting the art of Taekwon-Do.

 

On Friday the 4th of October 2013 ATA President, Mr. Najmuddin Safi, and ATA members paid a visit to Khawar School. ATA HQ Demo Team performed a Taekwon-Do demonstration which was appraised by the audience and the members of Khawar School. At the end of the program, Mr. Safi delivered a speech and talked about the role of each ITF practitioner in the society. Mr. Safi encouraged the members to work hard and promote this art to the possible extent.

4th Championships held in Herat Province of Afghanistan:


Afghan Taekwon-Do Association (Ehsan Safi Taekwon-Do Association) conducted a championship in Herat province of Afghanistan. On Friday, the 24th of May 2013, AfghanTaekwon-Do Association (Ehsan Safi Taekwon-Do Association) conducted a championship in Herat province of Afghanistan. The event was held in Youth Sport Gymnasium of Herat City. 100 competitors, from 8 different schools in three different age categories participated the event. The event included four ITF disciplines, such as free sparring, pattern, self-defense, and pre arranged free sparring. Ehsan Safi, Shirzai, and Aasheq Razem, winning 14, 6 and 3 Gold Medals, got 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions. Mr. Jami, President of Herat Provincial Olympic Committee, President of Herat Sport Council, President of Herat Civil Society, presidents of different martial arts federations, and many instructors were present at the event as guest. The awards, trophies and gifts were distributed by the guests. At the end of the championships 9 ITF certificates were distributed to I and II degree holders. The event was broadcasted through different local and National, and International TVs.

ATA Got 1st Position at the 2nd International Invitational Championships held in India:


Afghan Taekwon-Do Association Team winning 9 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals, and 2 Bronze, got first position at the 2nd Invitational International Championships held in Kolkata of India from 28-29 of December 2012. The Team was warmly received by Afghan Ambassador, HE. Mohammad Shaida Abdally, at the Afghan Embassy in New Delhi, India on January 2, 2013.The Team was also warmly welcomed at the Kabul International Airport up on arrival from India. ATA Vice President Met ITF President at the World Championships in Ottawa, Canada


Afghan Taekwon-Do Association's Vice President, Mr. Karimbakhsh Walizada, had the privilege of meeting ITF President, GM Choi Jung Hwa, and his Senior Vice President, Master Ligay, at the World Championships in Ottawa, Canada in August 10, 2012.

 

Mr. Waliza discussed several issues related to Afghanistan ITF with ITF President and Senior Vice President at the meeting. Both GM Choi and Master Ligay assured Mr. Walizada of the continuation of ITF support to Afghanistan. Besides, Master Ligay extended his assistance in terms of sending Asain ITF masters to Afghanistan.

First Grading & Seminar in Badakhshan Province of Afghanistan


Mr. Najmuddin Safi President of Afghan Taekwon-Do Association, and Mr. Sarajuddin Safi, ATA Secretary General, drove about 550 km towards northeast of Afghanistan to reach a remote province near Pamir Mountains. They arrived in Faizabad, center of Badakhshan province after alomost 12 hours drive. The delegation was warmly received by Mr. Mohammad Askar, ATA Representative for Badakhshan, and his team.

Mr. Safi conducted a full-day seminar followed by grading on the 29th of June 2012. Around 30 Taekwon-Do practitioners and 2 instructors participated the seminar. The seminar focused on practicing Tuls from Chon-Ji through Ge-Baek and some sparring drills.

At the end the seminar Mr. Mohammad Askar appeared for grading. After a thorough grading, Mr. Askar was successfully promoted to 2nd Degree Black Belt.

ATA Received 31 ITF Black-Belt Certificates


Afghan Taekwon-Do Association received 31 ITF Black-Belt Certificates for its members who are practicing ITF in Herat province of Afghanistan. The grading was conducted by Mr. Najmuddin Safi, President of ATA, on the 25th of February 2012. More certificates are on the way to arrive soon!

Black Belt Grading, Kabul


Mr. Najmuddin Safi, President of Afghan Taekwon-Do Association, and ITF Official Representative for Afghanistan conducted Black-Belt grading in Kabul on May 17, 2012.

Eight members of ATA lined up for the grading. The grading started at 5pm and lasted till 9pm. The grading was inclusive of all ITF Taekwon-Do disciplines such as Patterns, Sparring, Step-Sparring, Self-Defense, Power Breaking, Special Techniques, Basic Kicks, and Flying Kicks. As part of the grading, each practitioner was assigned to write a short thesis about ITF Taekwon-Do, its advantages and role in promoting peace and unity among Afghans. They were also tasked to incorporate their views and insights on how to promote this art in our county and make it more publicized.

The practitioners preformed very well and could meet the satisfaction of the Examiner. As a result, 4 were promoted to I Degree, 2 were promoted to II Degree, and 2 were promoted to III Degree Black-Belts. Their Degree Certificates will be issued by ITF.

2nd Seminar and Grading in Herat Province


Mr. Najmuddin Safi, President of Afghan Taekwon-Do Association and Official Representative of ITF for Afghanistan, conducted a seminar followed by grading in Heart province of Afghanistan from 24 through 25 February 2012.

150 Taekwon-Do practitioners and 10 instructors, from different Taekwon-Do schools of Herat Province, participated the seminar. The seminar was solely designed for practicing Tuls from CHON-JI through GE-BAEK.

At the end of the seminar, 35 practitioners appeared and lined up for grading, out of which 31 successfully promoted to 1st and 2nd Degree Black Belts.

It is worth mentioning that the event was organized by Ehsan Safi Taekwon-Do Association which is a member organization of the Afghan Taekwon-Do Association in Herat province.

ATA 1st Asian Gold Medalist


Mr. Saifuddin Safi, a member of Afghan Taekwon-Do Association, participated at the 1st Asian Championships in Hong Kong from 15-17 November 2011.

Mr. Safi competed in both Sparring and Pattern. He go 1st position in Pattern and 3rd position in Sparring.

Mr. Najmuddin Safi, President of Afghan Taekwon-Do Association, who was leading the team, represented Afghanistan at the 1st Asian Teakwon-Do Congress. ATA President also had separate meeting with the President of the International Taekwon-Do Federation, GM Choi Jung Hwa. The meeting, where several issues related to Afghanistan ITF were discussed, was concluded very positively. The decision that were made at the meeting will all benefit Afghanistan ITF.
