GRADING: The rank of the students of Taekwon-Do is indicated by the colors of the belts that they hold. Grading tests are conducted for the students who are ready to promote to the next higher rank or belt. If one devotes time and practices hard, he/she would definitely obtain higher ranks. By developing high technical standards, one can easily reach black belt and senior black belt status. To be able to pass the grading test successfully, the following fundamentals must be practiced well: Pattern: demonstration of blocking and attacking tools against imaginary opponents. Sparring: application of fundamental exercise, blocking and attacking tools, against an actual moving opponent. Self-Defense: logical application of various motions acquired from patterns, sparring, and fundamental movements to be used against a sudden attack by an armed or unarmed opponent. Power: breaking materials, demonstrating power of each attacking tool. Special Techniques: demonstrating the ability to attack opponents over an obstacle or at a distance or higher. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Grading Schedule Grading for Color Belts: I I I I I April, August and December ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Grading for Black Belt (I, II & III Degrees): June and December Please Note: Grading for IV, V & VI Degrees would be held by Master James Hogan.
