3rd Afghan Taekwon-Do Association Championships was held in August 2008 in Aafaaq Sport Complex, in Kabul City. More than a hundred participants participated the event from Kabul, Hirat and Badakhshan provinces. Hirat team got the 1st position, Kabul 2nd and Badakhshan 3rd.
At the end of the championships awards, cups and medals were given to the participants and winners. Shields of honor were presented to the representatives of each team and provinces. The event was followed by a banquet at Kabul Hotel, during which the promotion of Al-Haj Mohammad Homayoon Mohammadzada, to 4th Dan, was announced and Mr. Najmuddin Safi presented the ITF 4th Dan certificate to Al-Haj Mohammadzada. The banquet was attended by Mr. Ghulam Daud Shayeq, President of the Union of Afghanistan Youth, Mr. Jalal, Vice President of the Union of Afghanisan Youth, Mr. Hafizullah Ramaki, Managing Director of Ghazi Amanullah Khan School and Dr. Azizullah Amir, President of Afghan Hospital. Shields of honor were presented to them by Mr. Safi. At the end of the banquet a general meeting was organized which was attended by the ATA's Board of Directors and its Provincial Representatives. Along other agenda items the issues of the 2nd ITF seminar and the 4th ATA championships were discussed. It was decided to invite the ITF Masters to conduct the 2nd seminar in the very near future. It was also announced that the 4th ATA championships will be hosted by the Association of Kabul Youth in 2009. It is worth mentioning that during this championships the title of the Best Fighter was giving to Mr. Sayed Qaharuddin, 2nd Dan Black Belt of ATA team. Congratulations to all the winners!!!!!!
