ABOUT ATA:

Afghan Taekwon-Do Association, which is representing the original Taekwon-Do in Afghanistan and is affiliated to the International Taekwon-Do Federation, was found on the 2nd of January 2006, in Kabul, under the leadership of Mr. Najmuddin Safi with the generous support and kind collaboration of Al-Haj Mohammad Homayoon Mohammad Zada, Mr. Karimbakhsh Walizada, Mr. Jawid Roshan and Mr. Sarajuddin Safi.

In fact, earlier there was an association, established on the 6th of November 1993 in the name of All Afghanistan National Taekwon-Do Association. Due to several unforeseen reasons, the aforementioned persons who were serving ANTA as Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents, decided to boycott with ANTA and found a new broad based association with a very clear vision, mission and objectives.

ATA managed to get the affiliation of the International Taekwon-Do Federation, led by HE Grand Master Choi Jung Hwa in April of 2006, three months right after its establishment. <Click here to view the ITF License>

In a very short time ATA could dramatically spread country wide and open branches in different cities and provinces of the country. With the tireless efforts of its provincial representatives, now ATA is proud of running Taekwon-Do schools in different provinces of Afghanistan. It could be counted as a great achievement.

ATA is committed to the growth and development of Taekwon-Do, the real Korean Martial Art, in Afghanistan. Its leadership and the Board of Directors would do their best to provide Taekwon-Do services to all Afghans irrespective of gender, race, ethnicity, political interests, and religious believes, in a very professional and academic way.

ATA’s HQ is located in Khairkhana, district 11 of Kabul city and operates Saturday through Thursday.
